You can switch it to have a more Android look and feel in the appearance settings. The iOS look of Voyager mirrors what Apollo looked like, quite closely actually. The android appearance has a more unique look and feel of its own.

Yeah, Voyager really is the best interface overall. The PWA is so good, that it’s hard to even realize it’s not a native app. By far the smoothest PWA I’ve ever used.
I really wanted Eternity to work out, being that I loved (and still love thanks to Revanced patching) Infinity for Reddit. But it does seem like Eternity was too much to try and convert over.
I don’t know if it’s the “TOS-Breaking” you’re looking for, but I’ve been using Forkgram for a while now and really appreciate the QOL improvements it has, as well as the ability to hide the Premium stuff you aren’t using.
May want to lock this community here so people move over to the correctly named one.
Option 1 and option 2 are closed source. Option 3 is open source under the AGPL license.
See why you’re wrong? Deal with it, the dev for Infinity for Lemmy has already said he’s looking for a new name anyways. Go to the thread for suggestions and add your own thoughts for a new name there.
Hmm, yeah I missed that. It technically is a different class of app, but may still not be worth the risk.
As some one else also suggested, I really like the name “Parsec.” It keeps the astronomy reference of the original app, but it’s also unique, and fitting too as it’s a way to measure distances in the infinity of space and the universe.
Therefore one could say a Parsec is a way of measuring the Infinite. :)
Not really, it’s not even the same name. It’s called “Infinity for Lemmy,” where as the original app is called “Infinity for Reddit.” There should be no confusing them. Secondly, I don’t think that DocileAlligator would disapprove of the work being done here either. It carries on the legacy of the app he helped make, and it also carries on the spirit of what open-source can achieve.
He really is. He put in a lot of work to make Infinity work as well as it did. I viewed it as the best alternative to Apollo for Android users. But I guess that’s all in the past now mostly…
Regardless, I really am glad to see this work being carried on for Lemmy. I hope DocileAlligator can see that happening, and appreciates seeing it happen. Would be cool to even get him over here one day. :)
Heh, as an addendum to that last bit, Truth actually got a C&D order from the Mastodon creator(s) and had to make the source code available, iirc. I know Gab faced that too.
I wouldn’t suggest Affinity, given the art and image software of the same name. I really like Parsec though. It’s a huge section of space, so it still retains the theme, but it’s also unique too.
I didn’t know Red Hat had an account on the Fediverse?
And FYI, Infinity for Reddit was always open source. Still is actually, even though the creator is struggling to keep it alive. Infinity for Lemmy is carrying on a rather proud FOSS tradition.
Yeah, if you don’t mind it possibly taking a week to download something… Really like the idea, but in practice it’s very slow for something like that, unless you got a lot of seeders for something maybe.
