Oh, didn’t know, it’s pretty cool, the few “optimized” games I’ve played didn’t have it, so I assumed that this was first.

Is “Steam Deck” a preset in the graphic settings selector? If so it is pretty cool, I’ve seen many games claim “optimized for settings “ but unless there is a preset is up to the user to fiddle until it get the optimal settings. This is a cool idea, haven’t seen it before.
Yes, sorry, I forgot to put the quotes on official.
What’s the point of an official Deck controller if it doesn’t have touchpads?
Thanks, the last one looks very handy for me.
I still love my high frame rates, but playing with a controller is much more forgiving in that regard and i mostly play games with no camera controls on the Deck so it is perfectly fine.
Hardcore Mecha. More fun than I imagined it would be (and I had high expectations).
I’ve had terrible experiences with anything Nintendo on PC or Deck. Have you tried any third party joy cons? Something like the hori split pad pro or similar.
The thing that the Deck does better than any other handheld is having both sticks, d-pad and buttons aligned in a row, that makes any combination of them comfortable to use, weird that nobody copies that.
The thing I love the most about the Deck is having full size controllers on a handheld device, something that neither the Vita, PSP or Switch couldn’t gave to me. So, for me, this idea won’t work.
Unless you pay extra… or unsubscribe.
The screen is way better particularly the 90hz upgrade, playing at 90 FPS is so much smoother than 60, since I mostly play indies and old games on the deck I hit that frame rate all the time. Also I used to love my Vita and Switch because of the Oled screen. I now can play my Vita and Switch games on a 7+ inches oled display with proper controls, plus all my pc games. The brightness increases makes playing games on the couch on plain day light feasible, previously I had to turn the blinds in order to properly enjoy a game. That’s no longer the case.
The battery upgrade is very nice, specially for more demanding games . I usually only play lighter games on a handheld as opposed to AAA and rarely play more than 2-3 hours per session so the battery has always been fine for me, however when playing games like Resident Evil the battery lasted about 2 hours, now it last 3.5 hours, enough for a full gaming session. Games like Hardcore mecha get over 10 hours which mean i could take the Deck on a Weekend trip and forget about charging it.
The sticks feel way better too, not as good as the PS4 controller, the middle part is still a little slippery but close enough.
All that said the games you will play are as as much fun in the Oled model than in the regular one. I sold my LCD Deck so the upgrade have been relatively cheap but if you have to buy a new one and find a sweet deal on an LCD model don’t hesitate, you will be able to upgrade to the Deck 2 in 18-24 months.
I Gad the 256GB model and got the base 512 OLED. Screen is much better, those 90hz are sweet, battery lasts roughly 40-50% more and the sticks are much better. But at the end of the day, the games are as much as fun on both systems.
It’s supposedly arriving today according to the tracking number.
Ordered on launch day, 20 minutes in. It went on preparing order status after half an hour and it has remained like that until a couple of hours ago when it went into order delivered status and now I’ve got the tracking number.
Ah, so this is why zombies were festing on me in Resident Evil Remastered. It makes sense now xD
I can only identify the second one which is Persona 5. I also interested in knowing as I thought the first one was Lovely Planet and it clearly is not.
That makes the two of us. I was 15 minutes stuck in the address confirmation. Happily it suddenly went to the payment page and then to checkout. Let’s hope it doesn’t get misplaced in another country during transit for two weeks like the original Deck did.
HDR OLED is huge for me. I will be upgrading and selling my current Deck to pad the cost. Hopefully scalpers and bots won’t ruin the launch date.
This is the way!
