Lol…is that some kind of threat?
Lol…is that some kind of threat?
Nazi bullshit isn’t free speech. That’s a trash argument. You need to look inside and find what part of you is broken if you think otherwise. Fuck Nazi anything. They don’t have a right to free speech. They lost that when they became Nazi’s.
It’s crazy how they fucked themselves out of revenue streams so completely. Within 6 months of canceling all our streaming services, I was able to pick up 4x16tb HDD’s for a JBOD connected to a NUC for about the same cost (likely less all said).
A lot of us that grew up sailing the seas became stable enough to afford the media we wanted and docked our ships. Now, I’m back on my favorite newsgroups like it was 2001.
There’s that quote from GabeN, I won’t repost it, but it’s true. There’s a serious service problem and the greed isn’t helping. Now I’ve got a multi terabyte NAS and backup with a streaming services and a Steam account I’ll never make through the backlog of.
All that said, when possible, I still by the stuff I like on physical, but even that is getting harder and harder anymore.
The biggest mistakes these shareholder appeasing cock puppets are making is thinking we don’t have a choice anymore. We do and they are greater than they’ve ever been.
This looks fantastic! Thanks for the recommendation.
I unfortunately don’t have MAX anymore after they dropped Westworld (and all the other crazy shit that happened around a year or so ago) so I may also have to borrow a copy from my friend the internet…
Edit: Looks like my son already put in a Requestarr for it and it’s in Sonarr. The *arr stack really has changed the game after I was out of the scene for 10 or so years.
When companies deny us avenues to watch / purchase their products wtf do they expect to happen?
I have a Founders account, it’s $5. Not sure what the new customer tier prices are.
But, for the classic “cup of coffee a month” it’s been worth keeping active since they moved to a paid model however many years ago. The first several years were free if you owned a shield TV.
Additionally, they still offer a 100% free tier to anybody.
Been a GeForce Now user since the Shield TV launch. It’s a great thing to have when I don’t want to drag a laptop or console around with me while traveling. $5 a month is absolutely worth it, especially considering it uses my existing libraries.
Then don’t subscribe?
Exact same here. Moved from the Spigen to the JSAUX with screen cover. Absolutely recommend the JSAUX modkit, it may be my end game deck protector (so far).
For cases, I moved from the pack in to the Gen 1 JSAUX about a year or so ago (the ability to store a Anker Powerbrick + wall wart along with some wired buds and USB-c cable was great). That was perfect until I picked up the docking station and wanted to pack that around too…
Currently I have the Large Capacity Case and it’s working great, but man, this thing is unwieldy in a backpack. That said being able to have all of my Steam Deck shit in one spot for trips is pretty awesome and I throw it into a carryon more often than not if I’m taking the whole kit.
Usually though, I’m rolling with just the deck + modkit with screen cover and power pack in this sling bag. Seems to be the most efficient solution so far, as I don’t really need all the extra stuff in seat when I’m flying so it just gets packed in to my checked bag.
Apologies if this sounds like I’m shilling for JSAUX, it’s not. I legitimately have found them to offer the best solutions when it comes to what’s on the market for the Steam Deck currently. Both myself and my partner use their covers and cases, as does my kid.
My only note for improvement is on the size of the large capacity case, but honestly, I don’t think there’s much that could be done to retain capacity and protection. It’s just the nature of how big these portables are going to inherently be.
Ended up being a hoax. The crew is still around and we occasionally get together to golf or drink at tailgaters when it’s football season. Time and children have taken their toll on the LAN’s and other drunken tomfoolery of those days. That’s always the thing about the “good times” they just seem like life when we’re in it.
Goddammit Ted.
Actually checking on Steam that appears to be a pretty accurate statement. My man’s got a hell of a library built up.
Absolutely! It was a pretty fun moment in my early years in this industry. Now, after 10 or so years working from home, I almost get nostalgic for an office.
It ended up being some jackass on the SoCal sales team sending a “joke package” to one of our local sales guys. As far as I remember he was let go and no criminal charges were pressed. I think everyone involved was just relieved it was a hoax.
This is a fun question!
So, in the mid 00’s I worked for a pretty large software company doing mid level tech support for enterprise customers. One unassuming weekday, we get a notice that the building is going in to lockdown. Nobody in, nobody out.
Not long after we’re told to contact our families and anyone that may be depending on us after work. There’s a communication stating “we have a strong reason to believe anthrax was released in the building and no one is leaving until the CDC takes a sample and tests it”. Awesome.
After the initial chaos wears down the dawning realization that there are a few hundred (well closer to a thousand of us) now stuck in a multi- building complex with fuck all to do sets in. This is before YouTube really had anything and Netflix was barely serving up a few streaming movies. Plus, there’s no way I’m installing Silverlight on my production box. Dark times indeed.
In a stroke of pure luck, I stil had a couple of burned “backups” in my backpack from the previous weekends LAN party (jesus, this story just keeps getting more and more ancient).
A few short moments later and the ISO’s were dumped and it was game time. Now, we were all saddled with Dell Optiplexes of some random flavor (620’s maybe… this was pushing 20 years ago, details are a little sketchy) so there wasn’t much we could really run but anything in a pinch, yeah?
Long story long, I’d spend that time playing C&C Renegade, Quake 3 Unreal Tournament and maybe speed run Duke3D one more time. All while listening to some flavor of Scandinavian metal to truly flesh things out. If that got boring, I’d likely watch Ricky-O again or maybe throw on whatever else I happened to have dumped at the time (likely something from Tartan Asia Extreme or an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm).
Despite what an utter shit show this moment was, I have so many vivid memories of playing those games on the test network with a bunch of other 20 something people barely navigating through life while being scared to death that we may never see our families again.
That and trying to teach Ted how to copy a crack to the install folder… again… wtf man, directions are right there in the readme.nfo
Functional music sharing would be amazing. In the SuprNova days music was so readily accessible. Now it’s a crap shoot with most trackers and newsgroups.
Being someone who is less sensitive to those signals I wonder if it’s that they are being phobic or if it’s a situation where those issues and associated audiences are easier to marginalize… oh shit, had another revelation in the white, 35 and up market over here. Those systems roll hard.
Guys! If you are part of a group that has a month things might not be going well.
All jokes aside. Thanks for pointing this out as something I can be aware of. I’m pretty pro-human but things skip through the cracks. Good luck out there friend.
I’d say continue using your PC for the acquisition part of media and grab an app on your tablet that can connect via SMB or NFS (there’s quite a few on f-droid if you’re going full de-google). Then you can move over and files and not have to create a tech stack on the tablet.
Do you have some IPTV recs? DM if you’re not cool with posting here. Thanks!
For recommendations I use Overseerr. It provides a great web front end for requesting to Radarr and Sonarr as well as provides links to what’s trending on the major streaming platforms and TV networks.
Are we married to the same person?
