It’s weird to me that, in this specific community, people is condemning this kid as a cyber criminal and as someone playing for the “wrong side”.
Very recently, and “dirt cheap” is a stretch. Dirt cheap compared to the pandemic years, sure.
A lot of research can be downloaded if it’s open access. If it is not, you can request papers to the authors, this is really easy in platforms like ResearchGate. Others have also mentioned SciHub if you are okay with the arrr option.
Maybe it is out there, but the Internet Archive should be wildly redundant on the internet, it’s just too valuable to lose.
It was a good run since the first days of mainstream Netflix. Now, I can’t keep up with all these services and subscriptions.
Streaming is fine to discover music, but you are not guaranteed that an album you like will be there for you the next time you want to listen to it. I do listen music in Spotify with a modded app, then I download the albums I liked. There are albums that I can’t listen to Spotify anymore, but I still have the audio files in my Subsonic server.
I don’t even like the widespread use of the word “creator”.
