Wow! Good for the Germans!

What I don’t understand is why governments don’t try to fund open source software.

Cyber is increasingly becoming an attack vector on key infrastructure and it would be so helpful to have a group of developers to be at government disposal while understanding what software is being run on.

Honestly any nation not named the United States should move to FOSS if they care about security. Imagine the keys to all important infrastructure being held by foreign companies.

A lot of us pay for privacy focused email because we don’t want Google or MS steal our data

Japan is very bad in terms of copyrighted stuff. If that person lives overseas this would never have happened.

I understand Qwant to not perfect but its better than DDG in non-English results and I need it for work.

Try it. It has pretty good results even outside the US and is much more private.

Ungoogled Chromium is a great choice. I just hope it can auto update itself. 😅

Also I once encountered an anti-virus programme miscategorize Ungoogled Chromium as malware. It can be annoying for those uninitiated.

1. Say no to chromium. Use Firefox and its forks. Even Safari (webkit) maybe a better choice to support a healthy web environment.

2. Say no to crypto. I hope I don’t need to explain this one. If you have to use Chromium browsers for whatever reasons, use Vivaldi.
