The inverse is also true though, someone else is watching, I dunno, “The Crown”, pick up the Steam Deck and walk away. ;)

Or, you know, just connect the Steam Deck to the television…
One classic example being the Babylon 5 TV show… They thought ahead enough to film all the live action in widescreen, but all the CGI was done in 4:3 for expense and rendering time.
Looked fine on TV in the 90s, not so much on DVD/Blu Ray. But short of re-doing all the CGI from scratch, not much else they can do.
Just because something is shot on film doesn’t mean the video files produced have been mastered for UHD/HDR. That’s a level of processing that still has to happen before it reaches the consumer.
If a film has already been mastered for DVD, it has to be re-done for Blu-Ray, and re-done again for UHD/HDR.
Not all films are popular enough to justify that repeated processing. “Ah, DVD looks fine…”
Updating? Charging?
Not unusual, Bungie does the same thing only actively banning non-Windows users.
Some applications just require Windows. You have to acknowledge that if you’re going to use a non-Windows device.
I have the same discussion with my wife every time some website doesn’t work. “Are you using a real browser or are you in Safari?”
It’s not hard to dual boot with Windows. I set it up with one of these:

Back in the day, people shared files on usenet news, which was similar to the forums you’re seeing on Lemmy or Reddit.
You’d take a file, image, video, whatever, and turn it into text via a program called uuencode.
Text size posting limits often meant having to split the image into multiple text pieces all marked (1/34, 2/34, etc.)
The person downloading the file would then need to stitch all the pieces together, in order, making one large text file, then use uudecode to turn it back into a usable file.
Here’s a sample of what a uuencoded file looked like:
He’s going to be surprised at just how many people are OK not owning Ubisoft games…
Get started with Steam on your PC or Phone. You can find games you want before it arrives!
I’m not going to get in a certification dick measuring contest. Yes, you can in fact delay installation, and yes, you can schedule installation.
But really, an actual sysadmin knows you run a management tool for Windows updates:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-manage-updates-wufb
Windows updates don’t do that either, you have a choice when to install them, delay them, or just not do them.
I wanted to see how Destiny 2 ran on it. Bought one of these in 2tb.

No issues. Windows installed flawlessly, booted into Windows, Destiny 2 imstalled flawlessly.
Some stuff just requires Windows, it’s best not to be all precious about it.
Steam does the update thing too, nobody is immune from that.
It is playable on Steam Deck… install Windows on a USB-C SSD. Problem solved.
Better even. It can be used as a standalone device. ;)
Samsung Galaxy Tab A.
Been able to all along Xbox as well. Saved my bacon when I ruptured my Achilles tendon.
Xbox Remote Play already works on the Steam Deck and Android devices. Not sure on iOS, I haven’t tried that, but I’ve personally run it on my Android tablet and Steam Deck.
