I mentioned the overlay because now (and before caused perf and other issues) if you don’t disable the overlay the allowing tearing option does nothing.
Not this summer… But I bought two Decks so it Hurst double the second one I could have waited a little bit more… And gotten a better one.
That said… Now I feel better for opening one as if I break it… I have a excuse to get a new one… And hold on with the other meanwhile.
Doesn’t the allow tearing plus disabling the overlay solves most of that? Of course you will have tearing which is not great I guess.
As long as the tracker doesn’t have anything against VPNs doesn’t hurt. Nowadays not sure 🤔 but some didn’t allow VPN access on the tracker webpage and at the end except in some cases that is what Prowlarr does.
Yeah I personally have the dbrand one bit yeah plenty of options nowadays. But it’s nice valve offers something as well.

I mean streaming services alone would take a big hit if you like to have multiple. Then you have Cloud Storage , Gaming Subs (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo), Music, Online Backups, etc.

No idea for their specific case, but usually because VPNs makes it easier to circumvent bans as far as I am aware that is the main reason.
Not like it helps much tough as most people have dynamic IPs anyway… Any IP you have a suspicious of being of a banned person could just be of another ISP customer… Or the banned guy could have now another ip… so a user could circumvent a ban without a VPN anyway. That’s I guess why most Trackers stopped caring about the VPN.
Another reason could be to avoid crawling the content… That again would be related with banning the user anyway and nowadays with Jackett and company that is either expected or there is an API for it.

No offense but if they can do that you have to blame your government not the ISP… as those are the ones allowing this to happen.
At the end there will always be some way since to the user the text should be similar or the UI should be similar… So there will be always a way… But yeah it can get more complex.
The only exception is the case they implement the web integrity thing at browser level or equivalent.
And now with AI they can get even weirder, specially if they trained it on already weird stock photos.
