Good lord. I used to run my server on windows but every time I had windows updates it threw everything off. Windows firewall also got reset on updates repeatedly and I was constantly troubleshooting.
A soup.

Because streaming services are enshittifying and too many people are sailing the seas as a result. Can’t let that happen.
I pirated solid works because my university’s engineering program required what we PAY for it to complete our courses that absolutely required it.
An old gaming desktop
End of an era. Goodbye libgen, you single-handedly provided me my course textbooks for free, saving me over $10k CAD in textbook costs over two degrees.
Without libgen I would not have afforded my education.
I went to a museum of modern art and they had an NFT gallery of tv screens playing looping NFT GIFs. I took a Live Photo.
This is unfortunate. More replacements will pop up though no matter what though so all is not lost :)
That’s a neat application of LLMs. I echo the other comments here in that I’d want final say on file changes and the ability to only enable it for certain directories.
As a lil boy of 8, I wanted computer games but I never had a fast enough computer so if my parents ever did buy me a game, it often wouldn’t work or would be too slow to play.
Fast forward to wifi in the house and I got San Andreas working on my IBM T42. Good times.
Debian! I have a Plex server on Debian and it’s been nice and stable. I stream 4k to two tvs at my house at once. Works well.
That’s awesome that you’ve got such an old PC doing so much!
I’m using an old gaming pc. 16 gb ram and i5 9400F. Less specs than what you’re looking for but I’m running Nextcloud, Plex (@4k), Pihole, home assistant, and an entire Debian virtual machine. All of that uses 10GB of ram.
If ya want budget, you can go really far with low specs.
I use Nextcloud to hold all my personal and important files as well as my wife and I’s shared photo album. I use an old Surface laptop as a digital picture frame and have it on a random loop slideshow of our pictures album on our Nextcloud.
We use the iPhone apps to upload our photos and then it shows up on our frame. Works really well!
Why? What’s wrong with Nextcloud?
Check out LM Studio. Totally free and very nice GUI. You can do some very cool things with it. That and Kobold AI. Very simple self hosting no need for configuration either. Download and open essentially.
Yeah why not. Works in a pinch. I don’t recall where I said it was the most efficient or effective method though.
This is how u pirate a font:
Google “fontname GitHub”
The end.
I commend ya for the write up though. Would have been insanely helpful back when I was using WSL2 to emulate a raspberry pi to run Pihole 🤣
