Have a nice day.

What is the benefit of this over archive.org (which also offers torrenting)?
You can use exiftool if you’re on Linux to read the metadata to see if there’s anything concerning:
exiftool /tmp/my_video.mp4
I’ve gotten around this with TCP:443 as they usually just expect UDP.
Likewise :)
Thanks! I used the search function but it wasn’t showing up for some reason. I’ll link to it in the OP.
Wrong source but ok /s
Data hoarders where you at?
Really shows how everyone has been addicted to social media, myself included.
WE’RE ON THE RADAR, LEMMINGS!
How does it compare with a VPN?
RPI 3b is great but more than needed resource-wise (correct me if I’m wrong).
Getting more life out of the old laptop… nice!

Oh yeah that would be a great alternative! It’s funny, I’ve been wondering the same. It’s in bridge mode, has a MASSIVE heatsink and a fan but is still super hot. Does modems really get that hot? I’d be curious to inspect what kind of traffic is coming out of the modem because my pihole isn’t catching anything from my router-onwards.
So I finally shucked mine and found a 40mm fan in the bottom that wasn’t running. In fact, I don’t think it ever has run since I never feel any air flow or hear anything. Did your XB8 have a fan?
It could be fun to set up my own router… Are you running OPNSense/pfSense on it?
Oh my goodness, this is the first time I’ve seen the innards of that AIO (all in one?) on the internet. Thank you! Where were the screws located on it?
So they essentially sell WiFi routers that come with their own native firmware based on OpenWRT out of the box? Do you know if you can flash mainline OpenWRT so it continues to get support? The price definitely is reasonable for me to consider running one of these as an access point.
I’m not familiar with this brand and from searching, they’re a company from Singapore but ship out of China. If you flash your own OpenWRT, would that eliminate any privacy/security concerns? Asking out of ignorance.
However, right now I’m looking for a dedicated Ethernet router but thanks for the info!
It’s an XB8 which I’ve heard mixed reviews on. Haven’t found any teardowns online so far though.
