Looks promising. I been finding lots of money and asset management apps lately that are FOSS but they are all server side. I would like to find something like this that is completely client side only and you save your data to a encrypted file which one can easily sync to other devices with Syncthing and easily backup.

Client side will always be more secure than storing your data on a centralized server, even if you self host your own server. Or even if Ghostfolio created a flutter or tauri app and let users have the option to store their data locally in a encrypted file or on a server of their choice. That will be the killer app/service.

If you don’t need much more than double entry bookkeeping, GnuCash is pretty good. The desktop app is very capable, but the Android app doesn’t really have functionality for assets like stocks and development appears to have stalled.

Yeah I saw GnuCash and MoneyManagerEx and I am sure their desktop clients are good. However their mobile clients are lacking in features and has not been updated in awhile.

I hope more FOSS devs use flutter and tauri for apps since they can be compiled for desktop and mobile (tauri is working on mobile compiling right now).

Wait, is it possible to directly buy stocks from client side without a middle man service like Robin Hood? Are there any legal problems?
