They’ve realized it’s more profitable to take further advantage of an ever-shrinking pool of customers. If you can charge 1 customer twice the price of what you could charge 2, then you make more money because you require less overhead.

They don’t care about losing customers to piracy just like fast-food restaurants don’t care about losing people to grocery stores.
