Rewind the clock 3 years. Find someone with a PS4. Tell them Cyberpunk 2077 runs like a dream on a Linux-based handheld. Congratulations, you are now Dr. Frankenstein because you have just created a monster.
Is that by hours played on steam deck, or hours played for games that are steam deck verified? The Witcher 3 would be a surprise for me there; it runs on the deck, but to me not well enough to be properly enjoyable
Hours played on the deck specifically.
Also with the witcher 3, my understanding is one of the heavy performance killers is apparently grass quality. Cryobyte33 has a video on getting it to run well. You can also downgrade to the non-“next gen” version of the game, which still looks pretty good and runs way better. I believe it’s listed as one of the beta options in properties.
The Witcher 3 ran perfectly for me.
Then again, since I have a powerful enough desktop I’m in the habit of optimizing my Deck game settings for battery life and performance, not for graphics.
